What is

Scleroderma?
August 1, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RICKY CLARK MEMORIAL EVENT GETS NEW SITE, DATE

The Wal-Mart Ricky Clark Memorial Golf Tournament from which proceeds go for
scleroderma research and education has been returned to Fields Ferry Golf Course
and will be played at an earlier date than in the past, Sept. 6.

Also, the dinner-auction event will not immediately follow the golf tournament as in
past years and instead will be held, Nov. 3 at the new Calhoun Convention Center .

Previous events – this is the 11th annual tournament – have contributed over
$100,000.00 for scleroderma research and education. It is the brainchild of Vickie
Goswick, a scleroderma victim who has been free of the disease the past 5 years and
is the founder of  The Hope for Life Family Foundation and started the Clinic of Hope
with operations in the old Johnston-Hall Clinic.

Growth of the organization prompted separation of the two events.

“We continue expanding our horizons and will reach even more potential
contributors with our new format,” said Mrs. Goswick. “It gives us better opportunity
for continued research not only to find a cure for scleroderma, but other diseases.
That is what our Clinic of  Hope is about.”

She reports positive results from the organization’s first scleroderma study and the
following implication of glycol nutrients for patients.

“We hope,” she adds, “that universities from all over will want to look at our results
and go forward with a larger study.”

So, the process and results become larger. However, the golf tournament remains
one of the most popular charity events in this area. A number of celebrities such as
Atlanta Braves Manager Bobby Cox, Hall of Fame pitcher Phil Niekro and others have
participated, and Braves first-base Coach Glenn Hubbard remains a spokesperson.

Entry forms needed for application to play in the tournament have been distributed,
with the central point being Mother Nature’s Eden at 220 South Wall St. , Calhoun , GA.

“We are happy to be returning to Fields Ferry, where officials have always been
gracious hosts,” said Mrs. Goswick. “It’s great to be back ‘home.’ “

The tournament begins at 11 a.m. with registration of golfers, with a shotgun start at
noon. Awards and a barbeque will take place at 5:30 p.m.

While Wal-Mart remains the title sponsor, others are being south, including Hall of
Fame sponsor $2,500 and up; Major League $1,000 to $2,499; Team $600 and MVP Hole
$250.
